- Improve your quality of life
Dental implants not only look natural, but they are also the closest thing to real teeth. No more taking dentures out every night or fixing them back in place every morning. Once the new implant has settled, it will feel and function like your original tooth. You will be able to smile and speak with confidence, and eat all your favorite foods without ever worrying about the implants. In fact, the implants are so much like natural teeth in appearance and feel that you will soon forget they are there.
If you lack the confidence to smile because of one or more missing or broken teeth; if you wear dentures but find them uncomfortable or prohibitive to your quality of life, you could be an ideal candidate to take advantage of dental implants.
Improve physical features
Tooth loss makes you look older than your real age because once the teeth are gone; the lower portions of the bones begin to shrink causing adverse facial cosmetic changes including facial sagging. When implants are placed, the bone structure is rebuilt or remains intact; eliminating the sagging face syndrome as well as some of the wrinkles that resulted from a sagging facial structure. The end result is a more youthful and healthful appearance.
Also, dental implants give almost all of the strength and capabilities of natural teeth. It allows you to comfortably chew and bite any kind of food that was impossible to eat with your dentures. Above all, by replicating natural teeth, the mouth does not cave in, thus your mouth looks and feels completely natural.
Restore pleasurable eating
Once your dental implants are placed, you can again enjoy eating all the foods that you could not when you were wearing dentures. You will be able to fully enjoy the taste of food again since nothing will be covering the tissues in the roof of your mouth so your mouth will be restored to its full tasting capability.
Be physically healthier
If your diet has been limited to what you can chew while wearing dentures, dental implants will make it possible to eat a varied diet; increasing your eating pleasure and potentially, the nutritional value of your diet. You won’t have to worry about dentures that might shift or fly out. Chewing of the food is more efficient so you will be able to chew your food more properly eliminating some of the stomach issues you may have experienced while wearing dentures.
Restore social function
Tooth loss and the wearing of dentures paralyze some people socially, leading them to act inhibited and curtailing your normal tendency to smile, laugh and talk with others. The fear always exists that with any sudden burst of emotion, loose dentures could fly off creating an embarrassing situation for everyone. Thus, denture wearers typically become more withdrawn from society and can even be perceived as aloof. In addition, denture users can have a feeling of discomfort or even pain. Messy denture adhesives are irritating and if changes in your mouth cause your dentures to not fit properly anymore, the ill fit can cause painful sores on your gums. Dental implants make dentures and the insecurities and uncomfortable feelings that go with them a thing of the past.

Dental Implant FAQs
Who are dental implants for?
Dental implants are for anyone who lacks the confidence to smile because of missing or broken teeth, or for people who are tired of the restrictions of dentures. For the implants to be successful, you need a healthy jaw bone and gums. However, if necessary, we can first build up your jaw with bone grafts in many cases.
Why should I get dental implants?
If you lack confidence because you have spaces in your smile from missing or broken teeth, if you have no natural teeth left, or if you are tired of cumbersome and awkward dentures, you are a perfect candidate to benefit from dental implants. If you want to smile with confidence once more, or if you don’t want teeth that impair your quality of life because they don’t fit well, feel uncomfortable, or prevent you from eating all your favorite foods, you should consider the life-changing benefits of dental implants.
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are long-lasting replacements for missing or broken teeth. Unlike dentures that have to be removed, cleaned and glued, dental implants are permanently fixed in place, making them both look and feel like natural teeth. A small screw is set into the jaw bone in much the same way as the original tooth root, and a crown is then attached to replace the missing tooth or teeth. The root is made of titanium which has the highest compatibility rate with the human body and each crown is carefully designed to replicate the original tooth in both appearance and function so that it will look and feel like a natural tooth.
What is the process?
The process can be divided into two phases. First the new root is fixed into the jaw bone. Once the replacement root has healed and is strong enough, the crown is attached and the implant is complete. Follow up visits are then scheduled just to monitor the new implant to ensure that it fits, looks and functions perfectly.
How long does the process take?
It depends. If the immediate load option is deemed the best choice for you the implant can be placed and a crown attached in one day. For those who are more suited to the conventional method, the first phase is to implant the titanium root. Once the new root has healed and is strong enough, the crown is attached. This is usually two to six months later. With both options, we then arrange periodical follow up visits to monitor the implant.
How long do the implants last?
Dental implants are permanent replacements for your natural teeth. The new root is designed to last a lifetime, although the crown may need to be replaced after ten to fifteen years. You can extend the life of your implants by treating them just like natural teeth by brushing and flossing to keep the implant and gums healthy.
How much do they cost?
It depends. The cost of this care depends on what is needed prior to, during, or after implant placement to provide good long term support for the implant. If placement is simple cost starts at $1800.
Why are dental implants better than other options?
Dental implants are the result of the latest advancements in dental technology, improving the aesthetic beauty and practical functionality of your mouth better than any other alternative. Unlike dentures, they don’t have to be removed each night . They fit so naturally and are so comfortable that you will soon forget you ever lost your original teeth. Quite simply, dental implants offer the chance to talk, eat and smile with confidence once more.
While bridges, removable partials and dentures are all traditional methods of replacing missing teeth, each of these options can involve a whole new set of potential problems. With bridgework, adjacent healthy teeth often must be filed down to provide a secure support for the replacement teeth. This, in turn, can lead to future tooth loss.
Partial and full dentures can prove very unstable, often slipping and moving which can lead to discomfort as well as difficulty and a lack of confidence while speaking. They also require regular removal for cleaning.
Dentures and traditional bridges can also lead to atrophy. This shrinking of the jaw bone can progress persistently as the years pass. Dental implants are the only tooth replacement solution that is anchored into the jaw bone, just like natural teeth. By simulating a natural tooth and its root structure, bone loss is prevented and your dental health is preserved.
